Question: What are your earliest childhood memories?

Answer: Some of my earliest memories occurred when I was 2 or 3 years, when I was sitting on a chair out on the lawn watching the wind blow the pages of a big catalogue that the land lady had left on a table in the yard, I remember a short time after that my mother got a brand new washer and we were all excited. It was an old wringer type; but prior to that time, she had washed all of our clothes by hand on a board. This occurred while we w. ere living on a farm we called the Johnson farm. About a year later we moved to the Lewis farm where I lived until I was 9 years old. I had a dog named Tippy that I loved very much and he loved me. He would never let strangers near me and never left my side. I also had a horse named Blondie who also loved me and I would ride her every day. I would fall off often and she would trudge me until I got up and then she would help me back on again.

I went to primary every week and to church every Sunday and Mother loved to sew pretty frilly dresses and I was so proud when people would tell me that I looked like a little princess.

Question: What do you remember about your parents?

Answer: I remember my parents as very hard-working people. They were very religious and held many church callings. They taught many good principles and always made sure we got to church. They paid their tithing and always took care of their obligations. They loved their family and always included them in all of their plans. They did a lot of Temple work and Mother spent many hours searching out family names to take to the Temple.

Question: How did you meet Grandpa?

Answer: I first met Grandpa McClellan at a dance at the Rupert Stake Center. We danced several dances and enjoyed visiting. We went our separate ways. I went to Business College and he went back to Utah State. We didn't see one another for nearly a year. He looked me up and we started dating and decided we were in love.

Question: Tell me what a normal day would he like as a teenager?

Answer: A normal day as a teenager was worrying about what to wear and trying to get my hair to look right and whether I would get a date to the dance. We didn't have drugs, but we still had moral challenges and temptations. I had good friends and always dated good church members so I was protected a lot.

Question: What in your opinion were the greatest inventions of your day and why?

Answer: The greatest inventions of my day was probably penicillin which saved many lives and opened the way to discovering of many other life saving antibiotics. The Polio vaccine was a great thing also as in the early 50' s many people died or were left crippled from that dreaded disease. My next door neighbor died of Polio and left a wife and young family. Also television, computers, stereo and many other things followed, but antibiotics were one of the greatest inventions of all time.

Question: In your opinion were the greatest historical events of your day and what do you remember about them?

Answer: The greatest historical event I remember was the second world in 1941. I was 9 years old and it was very devastating to me. Some of my cousins served in that war and Grandpa McClellan also served and saw action in the Philippines. Also the Korean and Vietnam wars were at the time I was a young woman. The Blacks were given the Priesthood.

Question: What message would you want to leave with your posterity?

Answer: I would like my posterity to know that I have a testimony of the gospel. I know that god lives and that he hears and answers my prayers, that I am his child and that he loves all of us. I know that I have a Savoir who died and suffered for all of us and who atoned for all of our sins if we will allow him to do so. I also know that President Hinkley is a true prophet of God and that He has been sent to us at this time, to lead us in this latter day. I also know that Joseph was a true prophet of God. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savoir, amen.

Question: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Answer: I have fond memories of all the good times we have shared: the weddings, the holidays and I regret that our work keeps us from spending as much time together as I would like. I am so proud of all of my posterity and of the love and good time we share. I love my family very much.
